ASPE’s Popular MedGas Workshop Is Now Available Both Online and In-Person

We are pleased to announce that we now offer our  both online and in-person. ASPE is partnering with  to distribute the online workshop on demand, and the in-person workshop is held four times a year at training facilities across the United States.

“Through this new partnership with, we can now offer an option for all types of learners,” says ASPE Sr. Director of Education and Affiliate Relations, Brian Henry. “The in-person workshop is the right choice for those who prefer personal interaction with an instructor, and the online workshop is perfect for individuals who are comfortable learning on their own, with minimal interaction.”

Why Take ASPE’s MedGas Workshop?

Both the online and in-person options fulfill the training requirements to sit for the ASSE 6060: Medical Gas Systems Designer exam. The ASSE 6060 professional certification is being considered as a requirement for medical gas system designers in the 2024 edition of NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code as follows:

“Medical gas and vacuum systems shall be designed by one of the following:

  1. A party technically competent and experienced in the field of medical gas and vacuum system design and meeting the requirements of ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI 6060: Professional Qualifications Standard for Medical Gas Systems Designers.
  2. A party deemed technically competent through other qualification(s) deemed sufficient by the health care facility’s governing body.”

The second draft of NFPA 99-2024 was approved at the June 2023 NFPA Annual Conference, with a final review and approval to be completed by the NFPA Standards Council in August 2023 prior to issuance. Thus, it is beneficial to you and your employer to get ahead of the curve now by taking one of our workshop options.

Online Workshop Offers Convenience for Self-Learners

ASPE’s self-paced online MedGas Workshop, taught by medical gas expert Mathis Carlson, provides:

  • 32 hours of web-based instruction
  • Digital interaction with the instructor
  • Video instruction and practice quizzes
  • ASSE 6060 practice exam
  • Quizzes to test knowledge retention
  • Certificate of completion for third-party credentialing agencies
  • 1.2 ASPE CEUs

  • ASSE 6060 practice exam
  • Quizzes to test knowledge retention
  • Lunch, drinks, and snacks each day
  • Certificate of completion for third-party credentialing agencies
