ASHRAE Honors Several ASPE Members for Outstanding Industry Accomplishments

ASHRAE recently recognized the outstanding achievements and contributions of professionals in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration industry, and we are pleased to announce that several ASPE members were honored.

Ryan Pinckard, of ASPE’s Portland Chapter, received the Lincoln Bouillon Award, which recognizes a member who performs the most outstanding work in increasing ASHRAE membership. The award commemorates ASHRAE Presidential Member Bouillon’s efforts in recruiting new members. Pinckard is a Business Development Engineer with CHC Hydro in Vancouver, Washington. He joined ASPE in 2015.

Bruce Flaniken, PE, Fellow Life Member ASHRAE, of ASPE’s Houston Chapter, received the Lou Flagg Historical Award, which recognizes an individual for preparing the most outstanding historical presentation related to HVAC&R. The award is named in recognition of ASHRAE Presidential Member Lou Flagg, who promoted an interest in history. Flaniken is the Manager of Facility System Design and Construction engineering at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston. He joined ASPE in 2003.

George W. (Billy) Austin, PE, CPD, of ASPE’s Charlotte Chapter, received the Exceptional Service Award, which recognizes ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award recipients who have continued to serve faithfully and with exemplary effort. Austin is a Principal with Shultz Engineering Group, PC, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He joined ASPE in 1998.
