Women in Standards Announces Publication of 2020 Survey

The Women in Standards is proud to announce the publication of its 2020 survey “Inclusion in Standards: A Survey of US ANSI-Accredited Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs).” The survey identifies the commonly under-represented interest groups in the standards development process and establishes benchmarks related to the level of participation of women in standardization. Reasons for lack of participation are also explored as well as strategies that SDOs have found successful in attracting new participants.

The publication is available free for download from the Women in Standards website at Womeninstandards.org/2020-inclusion-in-standards.

“Publication of the Women in Standards survey on Inclusion in Standards is a momentous moment for the organization and just the beginning of great things to come. I extend my deepest thanks to all the standards developing organizations that participated. Your contributions are supporting positive change in our industry and I look forward to future partnerships and projects to continue this important work.” – Karin Athanas, Women in Standards Executive Officer and Board President.

Karin Athanas will be presenting the results of the survey during the Society for Standards Professionals (SES) Virtual Conference on August 5 at 1:30 p.m. EDT. Complimentary registration is available on the ses-standards.org website.
