Rheem® Debuts Its New Triton Super and Light-Duty Water Heaters

Rheem TritonRheem®, a leading global manufacturer of water heating and HVACR products, has announced the launch of Triton Super and Light-Duty water heaters. The commercial units, with up to 98 percent thermal efficiency, eliminate downtime with the ability to detect and prevent water heater problems before they occur.

Developed with small business owners in mind, Triton Light Duty (50- and 75-gallon) offers a smarter, more robust solution compared to standard units, while Triton Super Duty (119-gallon) provides greater capacity for businesses that need maximum hot water delivery. Triton Super and Light Duty join the existing Rheem Triton lineup consisting of Heavy-Duty units (80- and 100-gallon).

“Guided and influenced by plumbers and perfected by Rheem Engineering, the Triton family is designed to be flexible and serve as the ideal solution for both replacement and new construction applications,” said Michael Lloyd, Senior Product Manager, Rheem. “This smart water heater family boasts key features including high efficiency, built-in intelligence, easy installation, and retrofit. Its durability and additional size options provide an unprecedented value in the commercial marketplace.”

Triton units feature:

  • LeakGuard™, the industry’s only all-inclusive leak detection and prevention system with a proprietary auto shutoff valve limiting leakage to no more than 24 ounces of water
  • LeakSense™, an intelligent leak detection system that catches leaks and provides real-time leak notifications
  • Advanced diagnostics, allowing for proactive monitoring of the systematic health of the tank by providing alerts and maintenance reminders to help extend the life of the tank
  • Rheem’s EcoNet® Wi-Fi connected smart monitoring technology
  • Remote-control options via EcoNet app
  • Integrated Building Management Systems (BMS) connectivity via BACnet (MS/TP)

Triton’s multiple water connections on the top, back, and front of the unit, along with flexible venting, make installation easy. Additionally, the variety of size options provides solutions for small applications such as convenience stores or larger demanding applications such as in restaurants or hotels—where Triton Super Duty’s 119-gallon 500,000-Btuh option is required.

Triton’s patented heat exchanger design and advanced power anodes extend the unit’s life. Triton units include a five-year warranty and last an average of five years longer than the industry standard commercial gas water heaters.
