NFPA to Host Annual Conference & Expo in Las Vegas This June

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will host its annual Conference & Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas on June 19–21, 2023. This comprehensive event brings together thousands of the industry’s leading professionals who will attend more than 110 educational sessions addressing the latest issues, challenges, and trends in the world of fire, electrical, and life safety.

Featuring more than 300 exhibitors, the expo brings to life the products and services needed to help meet and maintain compliance with prevailing codes and standards in the design, construction, and operation of buildings and facilities of every kind. A series of pavilions, presentations, and special events will address specific topic areas, including electrical safety, emerging technologies, and community risk reduction (CRR), among many others.

In addition, the NFPA Spotlight on Public Education (SOPE) will be held on June 19–20, covering a wide range of public education issues, such as fire prevention programs and approaches for multiple age groups; the value and impact of community partnerships; and CRR strategies that can help effectively impact communities as a whole.

The keynote speaker at the NFPA Conference & Expo opening general session will be Dr. Albert Manero, a visionary social entrepreneur, educator, humanitarian, engineer, and superhero to hundreds of “bionic kids” who have benefited from his mission to make 3D printed bionic prosthetic limbs accessible to all. Using empathy as a guide, Dr. Manero will deliver an inspiring account of the difference one person can make in the world while championing the art—and highly human impact—of science, technology, engineering, and math.

The NFPA Technical Meeting, which allows NFPA members and the public to express positions on each certified amending motion (CAM), will be begin on June 22. If necessary, based upon the number of CAMs, the meeting will continue on Friday, June 23, allowing additional time for full debate and action. Final details of the Technical Meeting scheduling, as well as the full agenda of all CAMS to be debated and acted upon each day, will be announced by the Motions Committee on or before May 9.
