The International Code Council will join leading off-site, modular, and prefab construction experts at this year’s Offsite Construction Summit on August 17, 2022, in Washington, D.C. The event features presentations and exhibits highlighting the offsite construction industry’s ability to create accessible, high-quality and affordable housing; it provides diverse networking and learning opportunities for those in attendance.
Ryan Colker, Vice President of Innovation for the Code Council, will present on “Driving Offsite Construction Solutions: From Tiny Houses to Shipping Containers and Beyond.” His session will dive into topics such as the existing standards and regulatory landscape for the varying types of offsite construction projects; solutions to help address the availability, affordability, and efficiency of housing; and research and development initiatives for new construction and existing buildings.
“Offsite construction has grown to become a sought-after solution to address issues including housing affordability, building quality, sustainability, and workforce availability,” said Colker. “The Offsite Construction Summit offers a unique opportunity to reach key partners across the industry and engage in discussions around the challenges that have surfaced due to the varying regulatory processes among jurisdictions and their solutions.”
