Every few weeks, ASPE will interview one of our amazing members to help you “Get to Know” them. Here, we are pleased to introduce Clare Leidenheimer, LEED AP BD+C, a member of the Southwestern Ohio Chapter.
ASPE: What is your favorite childhood memory?
Clare: Camping with our friends and family at local state parks. We purchased a camper of our own and now are carrying on this tradition with our kids.
ASPE: Do you have a nickname? How did you get it?
Clare: Clare Bear. I don’t know how it began, but unfortunately it stuck.
ASPE: What is your favorite meal?
Clare: Steak and lobster, prepared at home.
ASPE: What is one interesting ability you have or an interesting fact about yourself?
Clare: I am a foster mom. In addition to our two daughters, our home often has “bonus” kiddos.
ASPE: What is your favorite holiday and why?
Clare: Christmas! I love seeing the magic of the season through the eyes of my kids and the time spent with friends and family.
ASPE: What did you want to be when you were a child?
Clare: From an early age, I knew I wanted to be an architect. I pursued this passion in college and finished my degree; however, I went the engineering route after graduating. I am now pursuing my architecture license many years later.
ASPE: Which historical figure would you most want to meet and why?
Clare: Jesus, because he is the core of my faith, and I would love to ask him questions.
ASPE: Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?
Clare: Definitely my husband. Although he completely hates the beach, he is so handy and resourceful! We would not be without fire, shelter, and food.
