AWWA Announces 2024 Annual Conference & Exposition Keynote Speaker Patricia Mulroy

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has announced that Patricia Mulroy, Senior Fellow at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law and former General Manager at Southern Nevada Water Authority in Las Vegas, will deliver a keynote address at the 2024 Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE24). The conference, the premier event for water sector professionals, will be held in Anaheim, California, from June 10–13.

Co-hosted by the California-Nevada Section of AWWA, this year’s conference is themed “Transforming Our Water Future,” focusing on challenges and innovative solutions in the water sector. The theme will be reflected throughout the conference, from educational sessions to workshops to keynote events. The 50th anniversary celebration of the Safe Drinking Water Act will also be recognized throughout the event.

“Patricia Mulroy is a visionary in the water community and the perfect choice to keynote ACE24 in Anaheim,” said AWWA CEO David LaFrance. “Pat is known for her unwavering dedication to assuring safe, sustainable water supplies through bold, innovative solutions, a commitment to collaboration, and sheer grit. Her remarkable career serves as a model for future generations of leaders. In a year where we mark the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act, and at the same time chart the course to Water 2050, we are privileged to hear Pat’s insights on the past and future of water.”

Mulroy will speak during the Opening General Session at 8:30 a.m. PDT, on Tuesday, June 11, at the Anaheim Convention Center. With more than 30 years in water management, including leadership positions at the Las Vegas Valley Water District and the Southern Nevada Water Authority, Mulroy brings groundbreaking leadership and a legacy of innovative water resources management to her keynote address.

“Impactful leadership demands a willingness to step forward and embrace new approaches, whether we are managing dwindling water resources or solving water quality and infrastructure issues,” Mulroy said. “AWWA’s ACE24 theme, ‘Transforming Our Water Future,’ correctly implies that we have the power to shape a successful and sustainable water sector. It will require innovation, collaboration, and tenacity, but I’m confident the future is bright.”

Registration for ACE24 is now open, with early rates available until April 20. Participants can register for the conference here. For more information about ACE24, please visit the ACE24 webpage.

Important change: Attendees should note that, unlike previous years, ACE24 will run from Monday, June 10, to Thursday, June 13, instead of Sunday through Wednesday. Travel plans should be made accordingly. More conference details will be released in the coming months.
