ASPE Young Professionals (AYP) invites plumbing designers 35 years old and younger to a dynamic day of networking and leadership development training on Thursday, September 25, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando. Led by certified Gentelligence trainer Justin McGlothin, Ed.D., the workshop will include an interactive presentation of the material interwoven with opportunities for table discussions/breakouts, exercises, and application.
- Gentelligence® Workshop: The speaker will lead an interactive give-and-take on how to push beyond lazy stereotypes to understand generational and age differences as a valuable form of diversity; the barriers that often prevent organizations (and individuals) from intergenerational collaboration; the four key practices of Gentelligence and ways to apply them to workplace challenges; and how to have smarter intergenerational conversations
- Leveraging Generational Strengths: The multigenerational workplace is not a challenge to be endured, but an opportunity to be seized. This workshop will help you see how generational diversity can actually be a superpower to unlock innovation, enhance problem solving, and build a truly resilient and dynamic work environment.
- Workplace Dilemmas: In this breakaway you will discuss the underlying issues of various workplace dilemmas and identify the generational conflicts at play and brainstorm practical, actionable solutions with your group.
- Bridging Communication Gaps: This workshop will teach you how to look beyond the differences between generations and identify universal values that all of us share to succeed in a harmonious workplace.

Justin McGlothin, Ed.D., is a certified Gentelligence trainer and passionate educator. His passion is to connect people and leverage strengths to maximize the value of collaboration. He serves as President of Higher Ed Media LLC, a media firm in the education and training industry. Justin’s professional experience includes 20+ years in administrative and executive positions in higher education. These roles have included leadership in student services, finance and accounting, innovation, and people management. Justin is a Professor of Management at the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. He teaches courses in critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication. He serves as a course lead in the First Year Integrated Core and the Assistant Director of Miami PRIME.
