Registration Is Open for the AWWA Sustainable Water Management Conference

The American Water Works Association is hosting this event for water sector organizations and professionals in Minneapolis on March 29 – April 1, 2020. According to AWWA, attendees will gain insights into best practices for managing water resources, source water protection, sustainable utility planning, analyzing the costs and benefits of water conservation, and exploring alternative water sources including stormwater and reuse.

The early bird rate deadline is March 6, and numerous registration options are available for AWWA members and nonmembers at the conference website: awwa.org/Events-Education/Sustainable-Water-Management.

The Sustainable Water Management Conference will include two pre-conference workshops on benefit/cost analyses of water conservation measures and geographic information system (GIS) operations, as well as a tour of the new state-of-the-art rainwater collection system at Allianz Field, home of Minnesota United Soccer team. On Monday-Wednesday, technical sessions will be held in four tracks: Efficiency, Resilience and Sustainability, Source Water Supply and Protection, and Resource Management and Planning.

The opening general session speaker will be Kenneth Blumenfeld, Senior Climatologist at the Minnesota State Climate Office.
