This one-hour webinar, presented by Mitch Clemente, is jam packed with basic information on storm drainage systems and their components that you will not want to miss. The presentation includes a brief history on roof drainage standards as well as a review of the different types of roof drains on the market and how to properly select the right drain for the application. A review of roof drain components and their purpose will be covered as well as the following topics:

 

  • Review of primary / secondary roof drains and their proper application.
  • Design considerations when selecting and laying out a storm drainage system.
  • Cleanout requirements for storm piping systems.

This webinar concludes with a storm drainage sizing example that will include a review of the various sizing tables for vertical and horizontal conductors and examples of how to convert rainfall flow rates to gallons per minute and cubic feet per second. 

 

The Presenter: Mitch Clemente, CPD

Mitch is the Mechanical Project Manager for Westlake Reed Leskosky in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a member of ASPE since 1993. He continues to be an active member of the Cleveland Chapter and earned his CPD certification in 1998. He has been in the field for more than 30 years, designing projects including educational, institutional, health care, retail, hospitality and sporting facilities. His focus is on mechanical engineering, plumbing and fire protection systems, as well as the preparation of project specifications, construction administration and project management.

 He served on the Cleveland Chapter’s BOD for 10 years and on ASPE’s board of directors for the past 4 years.
