Axe Throwing at Rage Montreal | Friday, October 20 | 6:30 - 9:30 pm

Rage Montreal is an indoor axe throwing range in downtown Montreal. During this private event, AYPs will learn from professional instructors on the art of axe throwing on one of their 11 throwing alleys. Come blow off some steam, learn a new skill, and compete in AYP’s first axe throwing tournament. Must be 35 years old or younger to register. Wastewater Treatment Facility | Saturday, October 21 | 7:30 am or 12:30 pm

Join ASPE for one of two tours of the Jean R. Marcotte wastewater treatment plant. Attendees will get an exclusive behind the scenes look at the largest wastewater treatment plant in North America and the third largest in the world. This facility treats 50% of the Quebec province’s wastewater and processes anywhere from 2.5 million cubic meters to 7.5 million cubic meters wastewater per day. The facility reduces and eliminates harmful chemicals, bacteria, viruses, and hormones from the wastewater prior to being flushed into the St. Lawrence River. Each tour is three hours long and includes transportation to and from the facility. The tours are limited to 24 people. The tours are ticketed events and cost $15 per person. The tours are only open to individuals who are signed up for the 2017 Technical Symposium. Register for one of these two tours during registration. 0.3 CEUs are awarded for participating in a tour. Intermediate Plumbing System Design | Saturday, October 21 | 8:45 am - 4:45 pm

New for 2017! During the 2017 Technical Symposium, engineers and designers just starting out in their career can participate in this exclusive full-day course, which was created for those who want to learn more details about the systems they currently design. It is targeted toward ASPE Young Professionals who might be attending the AYP Leadership Academy on Thursday, October 19. This ticketed course is available to full conference attendees only and is limited to 20 individuals. You will receive 0.6 CEUs (6 hours) for participating in this course, which is equivalent to what you would earn for participating in the four breakout sessions on the same day at the Technical Symposium. The workshop includes a lunch break with the other conference attendees. Centered around commercial kitchen design, this course touches on a multitude of systems. Click here for more details.
