For more than 100 years, Taco has set the standard for reliable, innovative solutions and is well positioned to continue that leadership. As the industry prepares for the 2028 Department of Energy mandate, the shift from traditional AC circulators to high-efficiency ECM technology is already underway. Taco has stayed well ahead of the new regulations, with the first ECM circulator launched in 2016.
To support this transition, Taco has invested in a new manufacturing line dedicated to the 007e ECM High-Efficiency Circulator. As Narciso Almeida, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, puts it: “We are ready for the shift from our legacy and extremely well-known 007 to our high-efficiency product offerings. We will continue to provide industry-leading technology and the quality our customers have come to expect from Taco.”
The decision was driven by scale and necessity. Production of the 007e must scale significantly to meet demand, reaching volumes of up to 1.2 million units. The new manufacturing setup now has the capacity and capabilities required to meet the increased demand and support our next-generation products.
With the new line, output has nearly doubled, increasing from 170 units per hour to 306. The new line introduces a higher level of automation across the board, which helps remove any potential operator error while strengthening repeatability. These upgrades, including firmware flashing and laser marking, expand production while improving efficiency and precision.
Enhanced data collection provides deeper insight into both machine and product performance, allowing teams to identify and resolve issues earlier in the manufacturing process. At the same time, quality control is built into every stage. From individual process checks throughout assembly to end-of-line leak and performance testing, each unit is verified before it leaves the line. The result is what customers expect from Taco: dependability in the field and long-term reliability.
For our partners, this investment translates to greater flexibility, faster product rollouts, and the ability to meet demand without sacrificing lead times.
Behind the scenes, the project was a substantial undertaking. The scale and complexity required close collaboration across the company, including the Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing Departments. That cross-functional effort reflects the commitment from Taco to bringing the right people together to deliver significant results.
With this new manufacturing line in place, Taco is ready to deliver the next generation of circulators at the scale and consistency our customers rely on as we continue to lead the future of the industry.
