Within ASPE, we are experiencing a similar moment of transition. Our Chapters are completing elections and annual reporting, marking the close of another productive year at the local level. These efforts reflect the commitment and dedication of our Chapter leaders and volunteers who continue to serve our members with excellence.
Now We Begin to Shift Our Focus Forward
As we move into the coming months, we enter Business Meeting mode, preparing for our October Convention & Expo, where representatives from across the Society will come together to help shape the future of ASPE. Before that, many of our Chapter leaders will gather in late May and early June for our Region Meetings, which are an important opportunity to collaborate and continue building strong leadership across all five ASPE Regions. This rhythm of transition is part of what makes ASPE so strong. We are always moving forward—learning and preparing for what comes next.
At the heart of it all is our mission: to advance the plumbing engineering profession and support the growth of our members, both professionally and personally. ASPE provides a platform where opportunities are created, leadership is developed, and meaningful connections are formed.
In the past several articles, I have talked about leadership and finding your voice. As we step into summer, I want to offer a simple but important reminder.
Take Time to Plan, and Take Time to Recharge
Summer is a perfect time to think about what you want to accomplish in the coming ASPE year, which officially begins on July 1. Set your goals and consider how you want to get involved to grow within your Chapter, your Region, or the Society.
Just as importantly, take time for yourself and your family. Spend time with those who matter most, and celebrate the milestones, big and small. The balance between professional growth and personal well-being is what sustains us for the long journey ahead.
ASPE will continue to provide the opportunities, but it is up to each of us to show up ready to contribute and grow. Summer is not just a season—it is a moment to refocus and prepare for what lies ahead. I hope you embrace it fully.
Thank you for your continued commitment to ASPE and for being an important part of our community.
As always, I am enclosing Volume 11 of the ASPE Education crossword puzzle. Luther Thevenin, CPD, is one of our many talented contributors to the ASPE Education Committee, and he has put together some great puzzles for our ASPE community, so take some time and complete the crossword puzzle. The answers will be posted in my next article.
