The remaining states do not require a specific provider to be pre-approved to issue CEU/PDH credits. It is ultimately the responsibility of the participant of each course to make sure that you are in compliance with your state's rules and guidelines.

LiTres Presentation

A group of students who attend Gulliver Preparatory Academy in Miami have been earning recognition for their efforts in building a water purification system called LiTreS. This system is housed in a three-bed healthcare facility in Yola, Nigeria. It requires no outside power source and utilizes a manual pump to send the water through three filters that eliminate sediment, pathogens, and bacteria like E.coli. A patent is pending for this system.

LiTreS has garnered international recognition, winning the Conrad Foundation’s Spirit of Innovation Challenge in March 2012. Students were invited to present the system at the Rio +20 United Nations Conference in Brazil and also received a Heart of Haiti Award.

ASPE will recognize these students for their innovation and outreach efforts during the awards ceremony on Saturday, September 21 from 12:30-2 p.m., and the students will also have a video display of the system and will be available to present and answer questions on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Hampton Court area of the Buena Vista Palace Hotel.
