The purpose of the Water Pipe Size calculator is to provide a simplified method of sizing water pipe. A street pressure system is where water is supplied from a public water main and the pressure is sufficient to supply all fixtures and equipment in a building without the use of a pressure boosting system. This generally requires that the static pressure in the public main be no less than 50 pounds per square inch (psi).
