The 2018 ASPE Convention & Expo planning brochure is now available
In our new brochure you will find information on all of the special events and technical education sessions that will be held during the 2018 ASPE Convention & Expo in Atlanta on September 28 – October 3. If you haven't registered yet, do so soon at expo.aspe.org to take advantage of the early bird rate, which ends on August 28. We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!

Congratulations Chapter Award of Merit winners
ASPE's annual Chapter Award of Merit is presented to recognize extraordinary contributions made by ASPE Chapters on behalf of the Society. This award embodies and recognizes the dynamic volunteerism and leadership of our Chapters and is based on their accomplishments over the past year. This year, the following ASPE Chapters received the Chapter Award of Merit:

  • Region 1: Baltimore, Boston, Montreal, New York City, Philadelphia
  • Region 2: Central Ohio, Cleveland, Eastern Michigan, Johnstown, Western Michigan, Southwestern Ohio
  • Region 3: Alabama, Central Florida
  • Region 4: Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle
  • Region 5: Central Texas, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Kansas City, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Omaha, Wisconsin

We also wish to apologize for neglecting to mention in the last ASPE Pipeline that the Central Indiana Chapter (Region 2) received the 2017–2018 Membership Retention Award. The full list of awards can be found here: Awards Page.

Lubbock High Plains Satellite Chapter is formed
We are pleased to announce that the ASPE Board of Directors voted in favor of the formation of the Lubbock High Plains Satellite Chapter on Saturday, July 14, at its quarterly meeting. The new ASPE Chapter is under the direction of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter. For more information on the Lubbock High Plains Satellite Chapter, contact Chapter President Doyle Fanning.

ASPE Young Professionals networking event is being held October 2
AYP is hosting this event sponsored by Zurn at Top Golf Atlanta Midtown during the 2018 ASPE Convention & Expo to help young professionals network, share ideas, and connect with old and new friends. Attendees will enjoy food, beverages, and a little friendly competition of golf, pool, and video games. Pre-registration is required, and the event is limited to the first 50 registrants. You can sign up during the registration process at expo.aspe.org.

Earn your Green Plumbing Design designation this fall
Available only for engineers and designers who hold either the CPD certification or a PE license, the GPD designation denotes professionals with a high level of experience and training in sustainable practices. The next GPD workshop and exam will be held prior to the 2018 ASPE Convention & Expo in Atlanta on September 27–28, and you will receive 25 percent off the workshop registration fee if you also register for the Convention & Expo. On July 27, ASPE's Seattle Chapter is holding a golf outing at Willow's Run Golf Course in Redmond, Washington, and on August 3, ASPE's Central Indiana Chapter is holding a golf outing at Ironwood Golf Club in Fishers, Indiana. The next Community Plumbing Challenge will be held this fall in New Mexico
The Navajo Water Project in Thoreau, New Mexico will be the focus of IWSH's 2018 international CPC from October 22–26, and participants are now being recruited. The application deadline is August 31. More>>

IAPMO seeks proposed changes to the 2018 National Standard Plumbing Code
All proposed changes are due by March 1, 2019. If approved, the changes will appear in the 2021 National Standard Plumbing Code–Illustrated. More>>
