Dr. Peter Williams to deliver the keynote address at the 2018 Emerging Water Technology Symposium
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Peter Williams, IBM Distinguished Engineer and Smart Cities and Resilience Lead, will present the keynote discussion at the 2018 EWTS being held in Ontario, California, on May 15–16. Dr. Williams has played a major role in the development and delivery of IBM's smart cities, water management, and resilience solutions, and he co-wrote the UN's City Disaster Resilience Scorecard. Presented by ASPE, IAPMO, AWE, and PMI, the EWTS will provide presentations and discussions on today's most pressing water-related issues, and we encourage attendees to register soon at aspe.org/2018EWTS as the Symposium is expected to sell out.

Past ASPE President is awarded ASME's Patrick J. Higgins Medal
At the recent ASME A112 Committee Meeting in San Diego, Julius Ballanco, PE, CPD, FASPE, was presented with the Patrick J. Higgins Medal for his outstanding leadership, extraordinary perseverance, and enthusiastic participation on numerous water committees, which led to the enhancement of industry standardization and the advancement of safe and efficient practices in the field of plumbing engineering. Congratulations Julius!

ASPE encourages industry professionals to promote engineering during Engineers Week
Being held next week, Engineers Week is a time to celebrate the importance of engineers and to encourage students to consider engineering as a career choice. This four-part series will bring you up to speed on the topics covered in the exam and includes practice questions. You can view the webinars at your leisure as part of your comprehensive exam prep. This year's exam is being held on April 5 and 6, and registration closes on March 22. You can sign up for the webinar series and register for the exam at aspe.org/CPD.
