The official 2017 ASPE Technical Symposium Program Guide is now available
The Program Guide contains detailed descriptions of the 35+ technical education sessions, speaker bios, daily schedules, information on special events, a hotel map, and everything else you need to know to navigate the 2017 ASPE Technical Symposium. If you haven't registered yet, you still have time to take advantage of our registration options: full Symposium, one-day registrations, and Product Show only. Registration is open at 2017tech.aspe.org.

Special events deadline is this Saturday
If you are planning on attending the 2017 AYP Leadership Academy, AYP Networking Event, Intermediate Plumbing System Design workshop, or a tour of Montreal's wastewater treatment facility—all being held during the 2017 ASPE Technical Symposium—you must sign up at 2017tech.aspe.org by September 30. On-site registration will not be available for any special events.

Meet the Women of ASPE at the 2017 Technical Symposium
Stop by the WOA booth during the Product Show on October 19–20 at the Hotel Bonaventure Montreal to learn more about the Women of ASPE and how to be part of this group. Committee members will be available to talk to you about upcoming activities for 2018, ASPE's Mentoring Program, and the 2017 WOA Membership Drive.

Registration is open for the 2018 Emerging Water Technology Symposium
Previously called the International Emerging Technology Symposium, the EWTS has been renamed to better associate the event with water- and plumbing-related issues and is being held on May 15-16 in Ontario, California. ASPE is co-convening the EWTS with IAPMO, AWE, PMI, and WPC, and the organizations are taking abstracts for presentations and panel discussions. You can learn more at aspe.org/2018EWTS.

2018 College of Fellows nominations are being accepted
The Kenneth G. Wentink College of Fellows is comprised of ASPE members who have made significant and exceptional contributions to the plumbing engineering profession, the Society, and the plumbing industry. Visit aspe.org/fellows or contact Stacey A. Kidd for more information on how to nominate a member for this lifetime honor. Nominations must be submitted by January 31, 2018.

Apply now for the 2018 Alfred Steele Scholarship
The Alfred Steele Scholarship is open to Student Members of ASPE and the sons/daughters of ASPE Members. To be eligible, you must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and be enrolled in, or plan to attend, an engineering program at a college or university on a full-time basis. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2018. Go to aspe.org/SteeleScholarship for more details.

Join ASPE's NYC Chapter to give back to the community
ASPE's New York City Chapter is putting together a team to participate in the NY Cares Day for Schools on Saturday, October 21. To join your fellow plumbing colleagues for a fun and fulfilling day or to donate to the cause, click here and search for the team name ASPE/ASSE.

Note to ASPE Chapters: Participating in charitable events such as this is a great way to earn Award of Merit points.

CPD Review Class is being held November 30–December 1
ASPE is hosting a 1.5-day class at our headquarters near O'Hare Airport in Chicago for those who are planning on taking the 2018 Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) exam. The registration fee includes a 30-question sample exam and a copy of the updated 2017 CPD Review Manual, and registration is open at aspe.org/cpdreviewclass.

Philadelphia Chapter announces their 19th Biennial Plumbing & Fire Protection Product Exposition and Technical Symposium
This event will be held on October 26 at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in Essington, Pennsylvania. In addition to the 74+ tabletop booths representing more than 150 plumbing and fire protection products at the Product Exposition, the Philadelphia Chapters of ASPE and ASHRAE will be hosting eight technical seminars offering CEUs. EPA releases specification for WaterSense-labeled spray sprinkler bodies
Both ICC Evaluation Service and IAPMO R&T are licensed to evaluate and certify spray sprinkler bodies with integral pressure regulation under the new specification that was published on September 21.

ICC seeks help in revising irrigation emission devices standard
ICC is accepting input on revisions or addition to the next version of ASABE/ICC 802: Landscape Irrigation Sprinkler and Emitter Standard until October 20. The organization also seeks applicants to serve on the IS-IEDC Committee. Applications will be accepted until October 1.
