WOA announces a new 2017 Technical Symposium scholarship
WOA (The Women of ASPE) has created a scholarship to help a deserving member attend ASPE's 2017 Technical Symposium in Montreal on October 19-22. To be eligible, an applicant must be a female ASPE member either enrolled in an engineering program at a college/university or employed in the engineering field with less than five years of work experience, as well as have a valid passport. The application and more information can be found here, and the deadline to apply is June 30.

Which professional development sessions will you attend at the 2017 ASPE Technical Symposium?
The Technical Education Program for the 2017 ASPE Technical Symposium has been released and includes 35 sessions as well as a full-day workshop and tours of the Jean R. Marcotte wastewater treatment plant. If you take full advantage of the Symposium, you can earn 1.2 CEUs for your recertification requirements. Registration is now open at 2017tech.aspe.org

Sign up to win a free registration to the Society of Women Engineers Annual Convention
WOA (The Women of ASPE) will be representing ASPE at this event being held in Austin, Texas on October 26-28 and is giving away two free registrations. (Registrations do not include air, hotel, or additional expenses.) To enter the drawing, you must be a member of ASPE and part of WOA. To submit your name, email skidd@aspe.org by June 15.

ASPE's New York City Chapter is holding a free Plumbing & Fire Protection Exposition on May 17 at the Jacob Javits Center River Pavilion from 4-8 p.m., and ASPE's Pittsburgh Chapter is holding its annual golf outing on June 16 at the River Forest Country Club in Freeport, Pennsylvania. ENERGY STAR recognition reaches new high
In 2016, 91 percent of U.S. households surveyed reported recognizing the ENERGY STAR label, almost 75 percent indicated the ENERGY STAR label was influential in their purchasing decision, and 85 percent were likely to recommend ENERGY STAR-labeled products to a friend, according to the annual Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) household survey.
